Phil Hay’s Ride Along 2 is a great comedy that shows a deep message. It shows the true value of family and never giving up on yourself or your family members, even if they are not your blood. I would recommend seeing the sequel Ride Along to fully understand this story’s meaning and comedy.

It stars two very popular comedy actors, Kevin Hart and Ice Cube. The rookie, Ben Barber, who Kevin Hart plays, dreams of becoming a detective like his future brother-in-law James Payton, who Ice Cube plays. James takes Ben to Miami to investigate on a lead that’s connected to a drug bust. The case in Miami brings them to meet a homicide detective and a computer hacker who reveals evidence that points fingers to a popular business man named, Antonio Pope. James and Ben have to prove that Pope is actually a violent crime lord who rules southern Florida’s drug trade.

One element that I grabbed from this movie is the meaning behind the story. It shows that Ben Barber does not give up on becoming a detective, even after he fails miserably. He becomes very dedicated to becoming a detective and does not take no for an answer.

Another key point that is clear in the movie is that Ben really cares about proving himself to James because Ben is marrying James’s sister. He feels that he should have to prove that he is worthy of taking care of James’s sister and he does this by risking his life to go on this trip to Miami.

I would highly recommend this movie for anyone that is looking for a good laugh. In my opinion, I believe that this movie was definitely one of the funniest movies that I have ever seen. The two actors together are uncontrollably hilarious. They also do a great job of incorporating values into the comical movie.
