On Friday, Feb. 7, the forensics team competed at Clover Hill H.S. in the Conference 12 VHSL Forensics tournament. Students were entered into a number of categories: duo comedy, impromptu, original oratory, and prose.
Of the four categories, three students took first place. Senior Trey West took first place for his prose interpretation of “Tell-Tale Heart” by Edgar Allen Poe. Senior Adam Blakemore took first place in impromptu. And senior Nicole Daly took first place in original oratory.

Competing in the duo comedy category juniors Riley Rakes and Nick Tritschler took fourth place in the tournament. For the overall team champion, Meadowbrook took first place collecting more points than any other school. Points are awarded for placing in the top three or earning an honorable mention.
The top three contestants in each of the categories move on to regionals which will take place at the beginning of March.
