Football Makes Crucial Turnovers Leading To Loss To Matoaca

Varsity football lost to the Matoaca Warriors 33-14 during an away game on October 4th, 2019.

The offense could not get going in the first half, giving up two turnovers which led to two Matoaca touchdowns.The Warriors took over on offense with two minutes remaining in the first half. They capitalized to put seven more on the board expanding the lead to 21-7 going into the half.

When the offense came back on the field for the first time in the second half, they had a short drive and punted it back to Matoaca. The Warriors then added six expanding the lead to 27-7. The Royals then tried chipping at the lead but had a turnover on downs around midfield.

Eventually, the Warriors defeated the Royals 33-14. Sophomore Curtis Allen finished the game with 170 yards and two touchdowns. 

Prince George’s (3-2) next game will be against Colonial Heights (1-5) on October 11th, 2019, at home for the homecoming football game.
