The boys basketball team faced Hopewell again on Friday night on the Blue Devils home court. And once again it game down to the last few seconds of the game and of overtime.
Senior Su’Wayne Turner seemingly gave new life to the Royals when he hit a three-pointer from the top of the key tying it at 58 with less than 15 seconds on the clock. The shot forced overtime.
In overtime the Royals took charge early but lost the game in the end due largely to two key turnovers in their last two possessions.
Turner and senior David McDougal led the team with both scoring 14 points a piece. They play Matoaca Tuesday night on the road again.
