Here is what is happening for the week of January 17th through January 20th. Due to the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday school was cancelled for Monday.

Students planning to participate in the Conference 12 Forensics Tournament on February 15th need to see Mrs. Andersen this week.

If you have seen the awesome, warm, grey pullovers some teachers have been wearing around the building, the athletic department has a surplus of these grey ¼ zip pullovers in various sizes available for purchase.  If you are interested stop by and see Coach Butler in his office.  Pullovers cost $25.00. Get yours before we run out.

The library has added another batch of nonfiction titles to the free book cart. The latest additions include topics in government and criminal justice. Also, stop by the library and check out some titles for your upcoming three-day weekend.

Please come by room B5 and pick up your permission slip to go to Virginia Beach and participate in the 25th Annual Polar Plunge!  Any questions?  Come see Mrs. Roberts!

4-H Day at the State Capitol day is January 24th. Due to exams, the field trip has been cancelled.

Great Aspirations Scholarship Program, Inc. is holding several FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)/financial aid events in January and February that are FREE and open to the public.  The following are the dates and locations. Contact information for scheduling appointments can be found at www.grasp4va.org. Varina Library January 18 6-9 pm, Richmond Public Main Library January 28th 10 am – 4 pm, Richmond Public Main Library February 11th 10 am – 4 pm.

Softball conditioning will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning January 17th. You must have a current, completed VHSL Physical to participate. Conditioning will be held in the Auxiliary Gym from 3 pm to 4:30 pm. Students participating must have rides here by 4:30 pm. If you have any questions, please see Coach Chandler.

Baseball conditioning will be held on Monday’s and Wednesday’s. You must have a current, completed VHSL Physical to participate.  Conditioning will be held in the Auxiliary Gym from 3 pm to 5 pm.  Students participating must have rides here by 5:00 pm.  If you have any questions, please see Coach Roberts.

Boys Soccer Conditioning will be held Mondays and Wednesdays 2:30 to 5 pm at the field hockey field behind the high school.  All boys interested must have a completed VHSL Physical and should dress appropriately for the cold weather.  Conditioning will end February 16.

Seniors stop by during lunches at the table in the commons to verify your senior portrait in the yearbook. Make sure that you are not left out and that your name is spelled correctly. Remember senior ads and quotes are due Friday, January 20th.
