The fact that The Royal News pursues national news events is phenomenal. Not every high school can say their news staff covered the President’s arrival…twice! This may not have been as proximate as Obama’s visit in Prince George, but it is nice to know we take every opportunity we can to give the student body news that is interesting to them.

I think that it is really cool that the newspaper staff had the opportunity to go see President Obama speak. That is a great memory, especially with the upcoming election.

Virginia is such an important swing state in the coming election. It’s quite an honor to have the president come to our area twice in the same year. These are excellent pictures, and I heard some of them won awards. Congratulations!

To catch the President of the United States on film and in photographs is a very unique experience. Excellent work on documenting the presidential visit so vividly. This is extremely appropriate at this time of the year, especially since the presidential elections are coming up very quickly.

I think this is a very important topic to cover because a number of students will be able to vote in this coming election. It is cool to see our small town high school covering news as large as this. Although I disagree with Obama’s policies, and equally disagree with his priorities (lavishly campaigning instead of solving our nation’s problems) I respect him and find it exciting that we had our president so close to Prince George twice now this year.

With the election season just around the corner, politicians go out to make their word heard. They try and gather the support of the masses in order to preserve their seat in office. Even though the speech lacked specifics it was truly a remarkable occurance to have such a powerful individual so close to home. It is great to see TRN covering events on the national level.

I am glad to see that the royal news continues to keep other students informed on political news. While many do not take it seriously now, it is easy to recognize the future importance of today’s politics. Thus, it is good to keep people up-to-date on the changing political climate.

No matter what political party you support, it is still really cool that our school’s newspaper was able to go and be in the same room as our President during a rally. The pictures are very vivid you can tell how close TRN really was. My favorite picture was the one where all of the TRN people had their phones out.
