The varsity softball team finished up its preseason play this week by traveling to Ashland to face Patrick Henry. Although the Royals played strong defensively after falling behind early, they lost to Patrick Henry 5-1.
Last week they took on an equally tough competitor in Collegiate in Richmond. This game saw much more scoring and even a home run hit by first baseman Kyla Nase. No score was posted in this game, and they played in a modified inning and out format.
Next week the Royals take on Highland Springs in their first official contest of the season on Wednesday, March 15th, at home at 5 PM.
