This I believe that you are what you eat. I am not trying to be mean or hurtful because there are some exceptions, but in most cases the foods that you consume can describe your lifestyle.
Being overweight is a condition which is usually brought about from overeating and frequent consumption of fast food. The typical overweight person also mixes this bad habit with an exercise plan that includes sitting on the couch and watching television. This deadly mixture creates a perfect pathway for the body to store excess fat that is not burned off, which in turn will lead the person to become overweight.
Obesity is actually quite common in my family and I will be the first one to say that I am not proud of it. With this obesity comes heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure that runs rampant throughout my family. It is a terrible feeling to know that most of my relatives will die before their time because of their eating habits.
This is part of the reason that I exercise the way that I do and watch the foods that I eat. I do not want to end up like the majority of my family. Not only does being healthy make your body look and operate better, but all of the extra energy that you have makes you feel better as well.
The unhealthy lifestyle may give you short term satisfaction, but when you need help to get out of your bed you will realize that the healthy lifestyle is the better choice and will always win in the long run. Always remember that it is harder to lose weight than it is to prevent yourself from gaining weight.
Next time you stop to pick up fast food remember that moderation is the key. Next time that your schedule is free, get up and go for a bike ride, take a walk with a friend, or even play a game of basketball because you are leading a healthy lifestyle while enjoying yourself at the same time. This is better than wasting your time doing something that will not benefit you.
Give yourself the best chance at a happy fulfilling life and treat your body with care.
