This I believe, life isn’t fair. I believe in working hard to get what you want but I also believe some people will always get what they want without lifting a finger. There is no explanation for why some people seem to be more blessed then others. Unfortunately I am not a very optimistic person. While my family is happy now it wasn’t always so cheerful.
My grandmother is my role model in life. She is kind and loving in every way a person can be. She is one of the most faithful people I know and constantly encourages her grandchildren to grow closer to god. However, her life hasn’t always been peaches and cream.
She potentially could have had 7 children. Only 3 are alive today. Her oldest girl was born healthy and well without problems. But her second girl, Rhonda, died after only a few hours of life. Next came my father followed by 2 miscarriages, an ectopic pregnancy and my uncle who survived. My grandfather was fighting in the Vietnam War and wasn’t home for most of the pregnancies.
My grandmother didn’t do anything wrong, and yet she suffered the worst thing a mother could.
In my family I am fortunate to have 4 cancer survivors including my grandfather, grandmother, cousin and my mother. As well as an aunt who was just diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks ago. It’s not fair that they had to endure cancer when not one smokes.
I don’t think I will ever truly understand why some people seem to have it better than others. I can only hope and pray for those around me.
This I believe life isn’t fair.
