Playing their last game at home for the season, the boys basketball team completed the sweep of the Colonial Heights Colonials with a win 72-58. Although a closely fought contest for three quarters, the Royals pulled away in the fourth.
Senior Brian Fullman scored 14 points for the Royals and BJ Knight led the team with four three pointers giving him a team leading 16 points.
At the conclusion of the game, students and fans stayed after for fan appreciation night. What appeared to be only a free throw contest to give away prizes turned into a marriage proposal from Coach Travis Carr to his girlfriend Chrissy Landrum. She said yes, of course.
The Royals now prepare for the Conference 12 Tournament which begins on Tues., Feb. 18 at L.C. Bird High School.
