Sprinters Qualify For Saturday Finals

Sprinters+Qualify+For+Saturday+Finals

On Friday, Feb. 24th the Virginia 5A State Indoor Track meet kicked off at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, VA. Teams from all over the state began competing in sprinting, hurdling, and field events.

The indoor team had several runners attend the state tournament and 55 m runners Aman Bivens and Keith Brown made the most of their prelims by finishing 2nd and 5th in their heat.

Both runners now move on to the finals which will take place tomorrow. A long with Bivens and Brown, Jaques Elliott qualified for the 55m hurdles by finishing with a time of 8.11.

The 4×200 m team will compete tomorrow as well as they attempt to win a state title after setting several records this year. Malaki Gurley, Keith Brown, Aman Bivens, Tarik Samuel, Jacques Elliott, Joseph Kemp and Javante Harding represent the indoor team.
