Staff 2013-2014
Courtney Taylor is a senior and has been on staff since her sophomore year. Currently, she is the Editor-in-Chief of theRoyalNews. She would like to go to school to get her medical degree and play soccer while she is there.
Lindsay Pugh a member of the class of 2015 and is TRN’s online Editor-in-Chief. This is Pugh’s second year on the TRN staff. She enjoys reading, writing, and theatre. She is always interested in hearing your ideas- email her at [email protected].
Mallory Cox is a junior. This is her second year on the Royal News staff and she is the Features editor. She would like to attend William and Mary after high school, and then go on to become a pharmacist.
Senior Christina Buckles is the News Editor for the Royal News and a third year journalism student. She enjoys running, music, traveling, and charity work. She plans on attending UVA and studying medicine.
Danielle Marshall is a senior and has been a member on staff since her sophomore year. Danielle, apart from being managing editor, is involved in theater, dance, and her youth group at MPBC. She hopes to go to college for communications and telecommunication management to begin a jumpstart to getting her masters. She hopes to work as a producer with Disney and Pixar. Debra Thomas is a member of the class of 2015 and the Arts and Entertainment editor for the 2013-2014 school year. This is her second year on staff. She is interested in film, politics, and coffee products.
Devan Fishburne is a junior and this is his second year on staff. He is currently the sports editor and a member of the school’s tennis team.

Carolina Bae is a senior in the class of 2014. She is a second year journalism student and the Op/Ed editor of TRN. She plans to major in education and become a teacher and attend college in Virginia. She can be contacted at [email protected].
Tiana Kelly is a senior. She is photo editor on the Royals News staff. On her free time she enjoys listening to music, playing video games, and hanging out at the mall.After she graduates she plans onGoing into the air force. While in the air force she plans to go to school to become a for X-ray technician.
Deborah Gardner is finally a senior at Prince George high school. She wants to go to college at VCU for a medical degree in dermatology. She enjoys playing basketball and lounging around. She is also in BETA club and will be joining more clubs throughout the year.
Samantha Daniel, a member of the class of 2014, is a first year writer on the TRN staff. She is a dancer on the PGHS Royalettes and is involved in many clubs such as NHS, Model UN, and Build On. Daniel wants to attend UVA but is currently uncertain of the major she wants to pursue.
Ryan Albright is a sophomore in the IB program and this is his first year on the TRN staff. He enjoys playing volleyball and soccer, and would like to play volleyball in college.
Qadirah Monroe is a junior and a first year print journalism student. She aspires to get a college degree in mass communications and someday work in public relations. As a hobby, she writes and performs music. You can contact her at [email protected].
Reeeve Ashcraft is in his first year on the TRN staff and is an active member at his school. He enjoys showing school spirit and is a huge supporter at athletic and academic events. He aspires to become an athletic trainer at West Virginia University and go on to be on staff for a professional sports team.
Junior Nathan Williams is a first year TRN staff member. He is a part of DECA, and is a member of the boys’ varsity basketball team. He also loves shoes and playing basketball.
Senior Ian Kelty is a first year TRN staff member. He enjoys going bowling on a regular basis and competes at nationals with a boasting 215 average. Kelty plans to go to West Texas A&M on a bowling scholarship and major in Business Management.
Hannah Zuloaga is a member of the class of 2016. It is her first year on The Royal News staff. Her dream is to get her cosmetology license for hair styling, then be off to medical school to become a doctor in the ICU.
Ebony Gilchrist is a sophomore and this is her first year on the TRN staff. She wants to go to college and become a journalist. Gilchrist also enjoys being in school plays.
Alexis Stewart is a sophomore and a first year Print Journalism student for TRN. She is very excited about being a part of staff this year. She would love to attend university and major in journalism and psychology (via whitaker). She enjoys singing, dancing, writing and learning new things outside of school. One day she hopes to become a broadcast reporter or psychologist.
Travis Temple is a first year journalism student and a member of the class of 2016. He enjoys volleyball, soccer, and writing. In the future, he plans to attend William and Mary and pursue a career in journalism.
Sophomore Austin Britt is a first year journalism student. He enjoys golfing for Prince George, relaxing, and watching sports. In the future, he hopes to attend a four year college.
Abigail Faircloth is a junior and a first year Print Journalism student. She enjoys reading and spending time with friends. Her goal is to eventually become a vet.
Sophomore Daniel Puryear is a first year Print Journalism student on the TRN staff. He likes to golf, travel, and play video games. Puryear hopes to attend UVA after graduation.
Sophomore April Buckles is a first year writer for the Royal News. Buckles enjoys running track and spending time with friends. She wishes to attend UVA in the future.
Madison Strang is a sophomore and this is her first year on the TRN staff. She enjoys playing soccer for the Royals. After high school she plans on going to Virginia Tech.
Sophomore Hydeia Nutt is a first year Print Journalism student on the Royal News staff. She loves to read, sleep, text, and be around her family. Her goals are to graduate from the IB program and high school, then continue on to go to college at Virginia Union University for social work. She plans to be very successful in life.
Ronnie Dayvault is a junior and a member of the Art Club. Outside of school, Dayvault likes to play basketball and hang out with his friends. This is his first year on the TRN Staff.
Senior Kadera Brown is a member of the TRN staff for her first year. She is involved in numerous clubs and extracurricular activities. Brown plans on attending college in the state and going on to major in broadcast journalism.
