In her sophomore year, Samantha Daniel stood in front of the roaring crowd, ready to start off the first pep rally. Daniel, now a senior, was excited because the Royalettes Dance Team had just gotten a new coach in the spring and were making improvements throughout practices leading up to the pep rally.

“I thought we had improved a lot since tryouts in the spring and we were all excited to go out for the pep rally and have everyone cheering us on,” Daniel said.

She has been dancing for 15 years, since she was three.

“I like how you can express yourself just like in other sports,” Daniel said.

A Prince George Royal for most of her life, Daniel had moved here when she was two years old and has loved it since. “My favorite childhood memory was catching fireflies in Lancaster. We would go up and stay with some friends who lived in Lancaster,” Daniel said.

Daniel is very focused on her life after high school. “I plan to attend the University of Virginia for either international relations or psychology, and after college I either want to work for an international non-profit association or work for an Embassy overseas,” Daniel said.
