At 12:20 PM on Feb. 21, 2014, the school issued a tornado drill for all classes. The announcement was made over the intercom that the area was a under a tornado watch. All classes with windows evacuated their rooms and sat against the walls in the hallways, some went to interior classes.
Students who were in the Commons for c-lunch were dismissed immediately back to class with their food.
After observing the tornado drill for close to 15 minutes, students were instructed that the danger had passed and were instructed that the drill was over.
Thunderstorms and wind alerts and warnings are still in effect today and students and staff are warned to be safe leaving school. Trees and power lines are still down in the county.
