There is nothing more exciting and nerve-wracking than preparing yourself for a make or break performance in front of a big audience.
“I remember the excitement I felt when I saw my name on the cast list for Beauty and the Beast last year,” sophomore Leah Holliday said.
Even with all the butterflies and shaking she gets, Leah would do anything for that feeling of anticipation before a big play.
She is now working on rehearsing for auditions in the future. Any role is fine with her as long as she gets to be a part of the production.
Holliday is a brand new student this year. At only 14-years-old, her many talents include singing, acting, drawing and writing short stories and poems. One of her poems titled, “Long, Curly, Black Hair,” has been published in a literary magazine.
“When I’m bored, I think of stories to write. It’s sort of a personal passion,” Holliday said.
But this is not the only passion Holliday has.She used her creative mindset and has a goal to own her own pastry shop. The shop name she chose is “Seven Layers” because learning how to bake a cake properly involves the right steps or “layers”.
“I think that cake decorating allows you to express yourself by the designs you create because it allows you to show your skills and personality,” Holliday said.
Her other interests include teaching, drawing, and hanging out with her friends.  Her friends mean everything to her, because she can go to them for anything,
whether it be advice or a favor.
Holliday is a very reliable and responsible student who believes in a great future for herself in the years to come.
