Five, six, seven, eight. Danielle Marshall dances to the light beat of classical music in the studio on the hardwood floors. Step by step she’s precise in every move.
She has always had a passion for dance, even as a very young child. At the age of two she began lessons for dance. She has been dancing for 13 years and is currently 15 years old and a sophomore.
“Dancing is like my own personal expression of my feelings,” Marshall said.
She shared that her dancing also goes hand-in-hand with her passion for theatre. Her skills in multiple kinds of dances helps a lot to get a role when it comes to auditioning.
“Dancing, to me is a way of life,” Marshall said.
She hopes to continue with dance as she grows older, but shares that since dance is not a stable career, it’s a tricky route. She has always wanted to open a dance studio and hopes to do so in the future.
As for a more stable career she aspires to be a judge. Her ideal colleges both are campused in New York, New York University and Colombia University.
Whether she goes into a more academic career field or pursues her passion in the arts, dance with always be a part of her life.
