PG Respect Ripple Takes Over Prince George

PG+Respect+Ripple+Takes+Over+Prince+George

One student can create a ripple of respect by doing things others would not do such as treating everyone with respect which includes teachers, other students, siblings, and parents.

One may ask that people treat him with respect, however, what exactly is respect? What one person sees as respectful, another might find it disrespectful, and so on and so forth. Respect is defined as being “a feeling or understanding that someone or something is important, serious, etc., and should be treated in an appropriate way,” according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary.

The word “respect” comes from the Latin language meaning ‘to look back,’ or to respect a person’s beliefs, whether that be religious or otherwise. Respecting a person’s beliefs may be confused with liking a person’s beliefs. Another form of respect is showing someone you care, or by trying to influence someone in a positive manner.

In order to influence others to change for the better, it would take a person with a strong message and leadership skills. They could speak a flame by encouraging their peers to be respectful and speak up when they feel there is an injustice.

Treat others with respect, and it should come in return. If it is not reciprocated, you should maintain your respect, cool, and class.

There are some ways to make our school environment more respectful:

  1. Share a smile.
  2. Compliment others.
  3. Don’t spread rumors.
  4. Resolve issues peacefully.
  5. Respect the privacy of others.

Following these few steps can create a more enjoyable school environment for all of us.
