Indoor Track Faces Tough Competition At Conference Meet

On Tuesday, February 2nd the indoor track team travelled to Clover Hill High School in Chesterfield Co. to compete in the Conference 12 meet.

The boys team finished in third place with a score of 113 points and the girls team finished in fourth place with a score of 89 points.

Some standout performances included Mailk Gurley (1st place 55 m), Tarik Samuel (1st place 300 m, 1st place 500 m), Kaleb Stevens (3rd place 500 m), Jaques Elliot (1st place 55 m hurdles), and David Roberts (3rd place 55 m hurdles). The 4×400 m relay team composed of Gurley, Stevens, Samuel, and Kai Samuel, also took home first place. Tavion Elliot placed third in the high jump.

For the girls some standout performances included Amiracle Powell (3rd place 300 m), Kamille Green (1st 1000 m), Kaysea Ramsey (2nd place 1000 m), Kendallyn Johnson (2nd place 55 m hurdles), and Alexus Lyons (2nd place high jump). The 4×800 m relay team of Kaisha Green, Milissa HArris, Kamille Green, and Alauren James took first place while the 4×200 m team of Imani Blue, Salicity Mason, Kendallyn Johnson, and Khadejah Ferrel took 2nd place.
